Jon Yob & Metropolitan MinistriesThe Metropolitan Ministries’ mission is to care for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in our community through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency.

With the help of community partners, they are able to prepare and serve 1.5 million hot meals annually and provide shelter to 41 families and almost 100 children every day. With their new housing facility to be opened in the summer of 2013, they will more than double the number of families they are able to serve.

On the heels of Christmas, the Yob Family Foundation teamed up with the Straz Center to sponsor a sneak preview of The Nutcracker Ballet to the students of the Metropolitan Ministries Partnership School. Not only were the children surprised by the pizza party after the show, but they also were treated to a visit by Santa Claus, who brought gifts for each student. This was truly a special moment for the Yob Family Foundation. Read the Bay News 9 story here.
